Storytelling is the most powerful way to put ideas into the world today.
—Robert McKee
The Design For Change Storyteller program is a tool to empower the children who have stories to share but lack the skill and resources to document them. It is also an opportunity for young film-makers, writers and change-enthusiasts to experience the “I can” effect, first-hand!
The role of the DFC Storyteller is to bring to life, through photographs, videos, sketches and well-written accounts, the stories of change implemented by our children. It is up to the storyteller to capture the inspiration, the energy and the insights of the children as they dream up, plan and implement their project. It is also their responsibility to invent ways to transfer the skills they have developed to the children who can then document their own stories in the future.
Our stories of change deliver the message – ‘If we can, YOU CAN too!’ This is a powerful message that the Storyteller will convey in the most effective way possible!
